TITONI is indeed a unique Swiss watch brand with a remarkable history. Today, the name TITONI is synonymous with excellent quality timepieces across Asia, especially in China. Behind this success story in the Far East stands an unassuming family business from Grenchen, Switzerland.
Our Gold Partner TITONI is one of the last remaining Swiss watch companies, which is still family-owned and completely independent. A true rarity nowadays in the watchmaking industry that is mainly controlled by large groups.
In 2019, the watch company celebrates it’s 100th anniversary. It all started a century ago in a small watch atelier at the foot of the Jura mountains – an area which is world-famous for its rich heritage and history of Swiss watchmaking. Fritz Schluep, the first generation of the Schluep watchmaking family, put his visionary ideas of creating quality timepieces at an affordable price into practice.
The qualified watchmaker developed his very first timepieces under the name FELCO before just shortly after renaming the company and brand into FELCA. Over the years, FELCA established itself as an internationally renowned watch brand with a worldwide distribution network. In the 1950’s, a second brand called TITONI was established, especially created for a demanding Asian clientele, looking for a classic, long-lasting quality timepiece at an affordable price. With the great success of TITONI over the years, the independent family company decided to fully integrate FELCA into TITONI and to put all its dedication, watchmaking expertise and effort solely into one single brand: TITONI.
Although Switzerland knows many famous watch brands today, TITONI is unique in its very own way. The Swiss watch brand was among the first ones to enter the Chinese market some 50 years ago and thanks to its sense for quality and long-term thinking, it still belongs to the most famous watch brands in China even today. The fact that it is still independent and family-owned with a clear vision and focus on more than just fast growth and quick revenue has secured its strong position in the Chinese market over the years and established a true bond of trust for consumers and partners alike.
Fritz Schluep showed great entrepreneurial spirit in founding the watch company and building up the watch brand back in 1919, a year after the end of world-war one. His son – Bruno Schluep – was a passionate business developer who expanded the brand far beyond the borders of Switzerland. The third generation, represented by Daniel Schluep, further established TITONI in China and strengthened its position and brand awareness over the last 35 years.
Today, the Swiss watch company TITONI is represented in more than 600 point of sales in Greater China and is deeply connected to the Chinese consumers and culture.
