Insight China celebrates its 21st Anniversary!

Insight China looks back at a rich history of successful projects, informative interactions, exciting routes and knowledge transfer between Swiss and Chinese representatives. To continue this legacy and make this special anniversary unforgettable for our delegation this year’s edition will cover the following destination to guarantee you an authentic Seminar Abroad. For this year’s Insight China edition traveling to China is due to Pandemic reasons not possible. However, we plan to do the Seminar Abroad in Singapore!

Singapore is known as a city-state island which is located at the southern top of the Malay Peninsula. The former British colony has one of the busiest global ports. Additionally, factories such as pineapple canneries, rubber factories, oil refineries and sawmills are located in the island nation. Banks, insurances and brokerage firms are also located in Singapore, which enabled the country to become a financial centre in Southeast Asia.

We chose Singapore as a destination, as the 5.7 million inhabitants country has cultural traits of the Chinese culture and close business ties to the People’s Republic of China.

We are looking forward to an exciting and insightful Seminar Abroad!

Not for nothing is Shanghai the most famous city in China. Many popular districts, one of the first and now one of the largest Chinese ports (open for trade with the West). As one of China’s most influential trading centers – since the Communist victory in 1949 – meeting domestic demand. Shanghai aims to become a leading digital infrastructure and a global forerunner. Due to its geographical location on the coast of the East China Sea – between the Yangtze River and Hangzhou Bay – it encompasses not only the city itself, but also the surrounding suburbs and agricultural hinterland.

As the most western destination in this year’s Insight China edition, Chengdu is one of the most important economic, industrial, commercial and communication centres in Western China. Chengdu is the capital of the Sichuan province and holds a deep and long history. The city is called the “Capital of Pandas” and is the main hotspot for technological and digital innovations of the province.

Along the coast of the South China Sea and in the immediate north of Hong Kong lies Shenzhen. Shenzhen, a provincial city on the east bank of the Pearl River Delta, is widely known as China’s Silicon Valley. It is considered to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the world – from a small seaside town to one of China’s biggest and most important cities. Many of China’s innovations and inventions were discovered in Shenzhen.

*Destinations are subject to change during the planning process due to the uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic.*

The Project Team of Insight China monthly evaluates the situation to ensure that contingency plans are in place for all possible scenarios.
It is of our utmost importance that the delegation receives the 5 ECTS credits.
Additionally, we want to provide as many benefits and the best experience as possible for the delegation members despite the unforeseeable future.
In case there is a change of plans, regarding the country of destination and cities we will, of course, inform you.
Until then, stay safe, take care and hopefully see you soon.
