As every year, the last day of the Preparatory Seminar is the day where all International Student Projects – Insight China, connectUS, Focus India and exploreASEAN – gather for a joint Friday. The day started with the Career Fair, where students of FHNW – regardless if they are participating in the ISP or not, could meet potential employers. There was also the opportunity for students to check their CV and get valuable inputs.
The day continued with a panel discussion titled “Do we walk the talk?” on the hot topic of sustainability. The discussion was conducted by Michael Jeive, the Head of all International Student Projects and FHNW China Centre Research and Consultancy. The participants in the panel discussion were:
- Michael Diaz, Head of Investment at Alternative Bank Schweiz
- Sibylle Kuhn, Sustainable Finance Consultant at Inrate
- Andri Silberschmidt, President Jungfreisinnige Schweiz
- Mevina Caviezel, Head of Sustainability at Senova Switzerland
- Prof. Dr. Michael von Kutzschenbach, Professor at FHNW
The panelists debated whether businesses and governments were enabling and supporting sustainability or if it boils down to societal transformation. They also received questions from the audience and ultimately talked in detail about their opinions on airfare-taxes, greenwashing, blockchain and other technologies.
Finally, the Preparatory Seminar ended with a delicious Apéro, where the Members of all ISP’s had the chance to get to know each other. We also had the pleasure to welcome some former ISP participants.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude towards our guest speakers, partners, participants and delegates for participating in our Preparatory Seminar and contributing in making this seminar an amazing experience!
