What is Insight China?

Founded in 2001, Insight China is a prestigious initiative at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW). This esteemed program provides ambitious students with a unique opportunity to delve into China’s vibrant cultural and economic landscape. By fostering meaningful exchanges between professionals and students, Insight China effectively bridges the gap between theory and practice, enhancing the learning experience for both parties. Our mission is to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and build strong foundations for business relationships in China.

Project Milestones

Insight China is structured around three key milestones

    • Seminar in Switzerland
    • Seminar Abroad
    • Final Event

Each milestone has its own specific objectives, but together they aim to expand participants’ understanding of the interaction between theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

Seminar in Switzerland

The Seminar in Switzerland, hosted at FHNW, marks the official start of each Insight China journey. Centered around this year’s theme, Shaping the Future – 25 Years of Forward Thinking, the seminar brings together distinguished speakers from academia, industry, and diplomacy to share perspectives on China’s business environment, cultural dynamics, and global role.

Delegation members gain firsthand insights into the opportunities and challenges of working with China, setting the stage for their upcoming study trip. Interactive presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities ensure that participants are well-prepared for meaningful exchanges abroad.

This seminar serves as the foundation of the project, equipping students with the knowledge, curiosity, and cultural awareness needed to fully embrace the Insight China experience.

Seminar Abroad

The Seminar Abroad transports students and faculty to various cities across China, emphasizing hands-on learning and knowledge exchange. Participants engage with senior executives, government officials, and academics, and visit leading companies, public institutions, and universities. This immersive experience provides a comprehensive view of China’s economic and cultural diversity, making it an exceptional opportunity to broaded one’s perspective.

Final Event

The Final Event, held at FHNW, serves as a platform for reflecting on and synthesizing the insight gained during both Seminars. Insight China and our partner projects present findings and experiences, celebrating the knowledge acquired and the connections made throughout the program.
